Hello, my name is Jo-Ann Thomas and I have been a part of the Momentoes franchise since 2004, covering the Hutt Valley and Mana Regions. I am located minutes from Westfield Queensgate Shopping Centre in Lower Hutt.
I first became involved with Momentoes after been given a gift voucher on the birth of my daughter. I was so very proud of these beautiful tiny hands and feet I wanted to show all my friends and family. This prompted me to buy a franchise.
A question I am asked a lot is “Is it too late to have a casting taken” My response “you are never to young or old to have a casting taken." I have made hospital visits just hours after birth, taken grown up adults hands as a present for their mothers special birthday. Casted all three children's feet as a surprise for Fathers Day. They make excellent thank-you gifts for Grandparents.
My children have been lucky enough for me to be able to capture all their first experiences… Shaun’s feet with a photo of him in his Christening gown… Hollie starting school, it was a hand casting with a photo on her first day and a plaque so I could remember the day she started. I still have mummy brain occasionally and need to be reminded of these things.
When my girlfriends’ baby unexpectantly died, I was very privileged to be able to give her a gift to cherish forever. It was hard to take these castings, but I know she and her husband just adore them. The siblings can also have a reminder of their little brother.
